Volunteer Opportunities
WE NEED YOU
The majority of our workers are unpaid volunteers and our service could not operate without them.
The CAB cares about the kind of people its volunteers are, not what they know before they start.
So, if you …………
are a good listener, enjoy helping others, are willing to learn, can commit yourself to a certain number of hours each week, support equal opportunities
... you could become a CAB volunteer.
Voluntary work for a CAB can include many different types of work:
office administration, working with new technology , reception duties, giving advice to clients, serving on a CAB management committee, developing new policies, publicity or fundraising campaigns
Voluntary work for a CAB gives good experience for paid employment, both in the CAB and elsewhere. Training for CAB advisers is accredited by the Open College Network and is very thorough. It will give you the skills and information you need to be an effective worker.
All travel and reasonable childcare costs are paid so that volunteers are not out of pocket.
